🍀 🍻 St Patrick's Day is approaching, the day of the year in which non-Irish people the world over celebrate the freedom to colour food and drink green. In Ireland itself, it's long been a day for the whole family to stand in light rain watching scantily-dressed people walking down the middle of the street.

St Patrick's Day is the official feast day of the patron saint of Ireland, St Patrick. It is celebrated on 17 March every year, and with Manchester's historic links to the Emerald Isle, the day is always a big occasion in the city, from the St Patrick's Day parade through the streets by some of Manchester's Irish community groups, to the revellers who pack out the city's Irish pubs to raise a glass of Guinness to St Patrick.
