PRESS: The Inner Circle Hire Facebook’s Aron Disco – GDI

1Facebook’s Aron Disco has just been appointed as the new Growth Marketing Manager for dating platform The Inner Circle.

Having previously worked on the Global Marketing Solutions team at Facebook, Disco has now joined The Inner Circle to help expand the app’s international presence.

In his previous role, Disco worked with local startups, as well as larger e-commerce partners, which he says has put him in good stead for the new role.

The founder of The Inner Circle, David Vermeulen, has welcomed Disco to the team, saying: “Aron is just the person we have been looking for, and I have complete faith in his ability to accelerate The Inner Circle’s user base across what is a “Tinder Tired” generation.”

Based in Amsterdam, Disco will be tasked with helping to expand The Inner Circle’s international growth as well as increasing engagement for current members.

PRESS: Where to launch first in Europe? We asked The Inner Circle – Apps World Series

apps-world-logo-smThe UK referendum and a potential Brexit are now approaching, leaving cities like Berlin, Stockholm and Paris competing to become Europe’s next #1 tech hub. With Amsterdam being in the middle of this ‘battle’, we asked Michael Krayenhoff, co-founder of
The Inner Circle, why they launched their dating app in Amsterdam
first and why they opened a second office in London shortly after.

Myself and business partner, David Vermeulen first met at a dinner party in London. David’s long term relationship had just ended and a few days after signing up to an online dating website, he deleted his profile because he was less than impressed.

David spoke of making a dating website, but making it differently. One that was tailored to the lives of like-minded, high-achieving men and women, and that carried out a rigorous screening process in order to eliminate the hassle of sifting through thousands of unreliable and unsuitable profiles. So the next day, David and I met and started working on the concept of The Inner Circle.

PRESS: 9 signs that you’re starting to fall in love with someone – EveningStandard

og-image-frontEveryone talks about falling in love and finding ‘the one’, but how are you supposed to know when it’s happening to you?

Here, founder of dating platform The Inner Circle, David Vermeulen, gives you a tick-list of tell-tale signs that show ‘you’ve got it bad’.

You want them to meet your friends

You have been on a couple of dates, and you start to imagine how great it would be to see your best friends and your date, sharing jokes, banter and generally getting along. This thought subsequently results in a Cheshire cat grin forming across your face: you’ve got it bad.

When you see their name light up on your phone and your stomach flips

We have all been there, waiting by the phone for your date to text back. The elation and stomach flip followed by butterflies when their name appears. The frustration and loud exhale when your phone lights up and it’s your mum just checking in: you’ve got it bad.

tracking the April Fools’ antics of some of the most popular online dating services.

Check out the best online dating-related practical jokes of this year below.

The Inner Circle

Exclusive dating platform The Inner Circle also got in on the fun with one of our favourites of the day – creating a pop-up message that appeared when users logged in, telling them the company was deleting accounts as a result of growing too fast, and to try and save their membership they had to select “Paper”, “Scissors” or “Stone”.

After choosing, users were alerted they had made the wrong choice with a message that read: “Your account has been deleted. As a result of our extensive growth in London we are now removing 33% of our members. Sorry to see you go and good luck on Tinder,” before revealing the joke in the next screen.

PRESS: The 11 best dating sites right now – The Telegraph

joejackson_photo_gal__photo_2132510615With new dating apps and sites being created faster than we can download them, it can be hard to know where to start. Radhika Sanghani rounds up the best dating options out there.

There’s been a huge rise in apps and websites all designed to help people meet online. Now, no matter what your age or lifestyle, one of the best ways to start dating is simply to create a profile. Even if you used to successfully online date, but have found yourself single again, it can be difficult to know exactly what sites you need to be surfing. It’s why I’ve created this handy guide to the 11 best dating websites and apps available right now. You’re welcome.

The Inner Circle

This site describes itself as the way to meet ‘the most successful and attractive singles.’ It asks users to fill out their job title and education, and links to Facebook so you can view their social circle. Before you join, the app has to approve you as a member (a slightly daunting process) or you have to be invited. If you want to unlock certain features you either have to pay or invite other to join. A friend who uses it tells me: “It’s good if you’re picky… but there aren’t a lot of people on it.”

PRESS: ‘Topless selfies might work on Tinder but they won’t get you into singles’ Premier League’

IBTimes-150x94Throw down the dumb-bell, put away that pout and for goodness’ sake put on some clothes. Singles in London might think they have the dating game sussed after the explosion in popularity of dating apps such as Tinder but if they want to make it into the Premier League of match-making, they had better up their game and forget posing for selfies.

By Lewis Dean

Fast lifestyles and aspiring careers mean some of the city’s high fliers don’t commit to swiping through hundreds of online profiles in the hope of finding the one – finding love was like window shopping rather than trying it on to see if it fits.

It was not until entrepreneur Michael Krayenhoff went to a dinner party with single friend David Vermeulen in 2012 that the pair thought they could play Cupid and make it pay. Three years later, The Inner Circle dating website they created has 75,000 members, with another 100,000 on the waiting list. Waiting list? You read correctly. The Inner Circle is for the attractive and/or inspiring bachelors who want help meeting like-minded people some of London’s trendiest nightspots.

PRESS: Business Insider – London

We checked out the London dating app that is restricted to ‘successful, attractive people’ only

The Inner Circle, London’s latest dating website and app, bills itself as a network for “like-minded” individuals; a “high-end”, “exclusive community” with an “impressive following of successful and attractive people.” “The Inner Circle is the first and only dating website with a strict invite-only policy that includes a thorough screening upon registration to ensure eligible singles with similar lifestyles and mutual friends can meet each other in a friendly and trustworthy community,” the website explains. What really sets The Inner Circle apart, though, CEO and cofounder David Vermeulen tells us, is its “exclusive parties” — held at some of London’s “most glamorous” venues. Barts in Chelsea, Whisky Mist in Mayfair, and Bodo’s Schloss in Kensington have been on the list. Although the entry rules are strict, Vermeulen has also provided plenty of features to keep users engaged once they are in. The site just launched in London after setting up in Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Stockholm and Amsterdam, where it was founded. In social dating terms, The Inner Circle is a more complex, European equivalent to US app The League. So far, 50,000 people have been approved; there’s a waiting list of far more. 2. Check out other Circles, chat and share original date ideas
3. When you get along well, meet up and have a fun night out!

David Vermeulen (38, founder) explains the reason for integrating Circles: “Our members live fast lifestyles and have little free time for friends and to go on dates.
